The problem with rabid type "A" people is that most of the time they are right, but no one actually cares about the little stuff they are right about. Most of what they go on and on about are little things that do not impact how the business or life for that matter runs.
They see others as people who "just don't care", when in fact, we see ourselves as people who care about what is important in life. Sweating the details can be very important, but in many cases it is just a waste of time that could be better spent on taking larger steps toward the goal. Type "A" people have a difficult time figuring out what is "Mission Critical" and instead drift from one issue to another, constantly working on perfection. I heard a CEO once say that perfection is the enemy of progress. I totally understand where he was coming from.
We need type "A" people in our lives to make us stop and think about little things, but in the end they are just a major pain in the behind and are the stuff grey hair and headaches are made from. Making matters worse, most of them are smug, condescending and in some cases, flaky as can be.
I don't know where I am going with all this, as there is nothing any of us can do about it, but put up with it. The flip side of all this, of course, is they see us as lazy uninterested people. So be it!
I will be out there looking at nature and absorbing all the beauty that God has for us. I won't question God as to why he didn't make the northern cardinal brown because it makes more sense for his survival!
